چکیده

Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) from shale formations is recognized as the next frontier in exploitation of unconventional resources. Current approaches for performing EOR experiments using fractured rocks can generate misleading results cores cannot be saturated with live oils. In this work, a novel laboratory methodology developed to quantify efficiency gas huff-n-puff under realistic reservoir conditions, i.e. and hydraulic fracturing conditions. This new approach involves first saturating core then oil-saturated by increasing pore pressure above confining pressure. To demonstrate viability methodology, Haynesville formation permeability 0.0001 mD were tested. Two performed injection associated into either dead crude or oil. 48% additional was achieved whereas, yielded 33% enhanced recovery, which significantly lower than that Furthermore, decay profiles during soaking periods indicate comparatively higher penetration system despite solubility The in-situ have strong influence on huff-n-puff. notable differences obtained compared need perform more better optimize EOR-based extractions field.

AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF GRAVITY DRAINAGE DURING IMMISCIBLE GAS INJECTION IN CARBONATE ROCKS UNDER RESERVOIR CONDITIONS

Gravity drainage is one of the important recovery mechanisms in fractured carbonate and conventional reservoirs. It occurs due to density difference between the gas in fracture and the oil in matrix as well as in conventional tilted reservoirs. Oil phase will form films which are produced under gravity forces (film flow). Many gas injection experiments have been done on laboratory scales with d...

An Experimental Investigation of Feasibility of Gas Huff and Puff for Recovering Crude Oil with Different Viscosities

Investigating multi cyclic gas (N2 and CO2) huff and puff have been conducted by long sandpack simulations with four different crude oils from Jiangsu oilfield. According to the production differential pressure and the production regularity during huff and puff, the production process was divided into three sections; the first one is free gas production section; the second section is low viscou...

3d Analysis of Huff and Puff and Injection Tests in Geothermal Reservoirs

Heat extraction from deep, hot rocks for energy production is based on water circulation through a man made fracture or natural fractures. As multiple and non-planar fractures in a stress field affect the geothermal reservoir behavior, so the capability to simulate multiple fractures and joints is needed to help reservoir design and operation. A 3D model is developed in this work to simulate an...
